A Day in the Life - Post-Vacation Cleanse

It's been a week since we returned from Cuba and I can say I'm still missing the sunshine and sandy beaches.  But our new fallen snow has definitely brought our my Christmas spirit.  So after a week at an all-inclusive resort indulging in entirely too much food and booze I thought it might be a great time to push the reset button on my body and do a little post-vacay, pre-Christmas cleanse.

I've been prepping for the past 3 days and today, December 15th, is the first official day of my 5 day cleanse!  Luckily for me there's a great local company here that's got me all set up for some juice detox.  The Pulp & Press Juice Co. is a locally owned company specializing in fresh, raw, organic cold pressed juice.  All of their cold pressed juices are produced entirely in-house using fresh, organic fruits and vegetables - no additives, no preservatives; just nutrient rich fruits and vegetables. They are perfect for a daily energy boost, as a meal supplement, or why not  tackle one of their multi-day juice cleanses.

I met with John Parlow & Christian Vemb, the guys behind The Pulp & Press Juice Co., just before leaving on vacation.  After meeting with them and sampling the juice I knew instantly I needed more of it!  Go big or go home right?  So I dove right in and opted for the 5 day cleanse.  I've never done a cleanse before so this should be interesting.

So why juice??  According to Dr. Joel Fuhrman, author of The Super Immunity Diet, juicing helps unleash the natural healing power of the body. Juicing floods your system with powerful nutrients and antioxidants. It may also help retrain your taste buds to enjoy healthy fruits and vegetables, making it the first step toward a long-lasting lifestyle change, or jump starting a weight-loss regimen. Dr. Fuhrman also says juicing can be beneficial for people with elevated cholesterol and high blood pressure, and those suffering from autoimmune diseases, like arthritis, digestive problems and skin conditions. My breakfast

I will be documenting my juice cleanse over the next 5 days.  So far everything is great and the juice is delicious and surprisingly satisfying to my food-loving character. So whether your curious about juicing or cleansing or you  just want to see if I can survive the next 5 days without anything to eat but juice and water, stay tuned for my updates over the next 5 days.
