Working on Wellness

It's the first week of 2014 and we're finally back into a routine, sort of.  The first 2 days of school were cancelled due to the crazy snow and freezing temperatures from that polar vortex, but I'm happy to report that Stella is back at school with all her friends and I can start getting some work done.

My resolution this year is one simple word: Nourishment.  I'm going to work on nourishing all parts of my life.  From my body & spirit, to my relationships and my business.  That's my goal for 2014.  Today I'm going to start working towards that goal.


Firstly, I'm going to start with some real food nourishment.  I'm committing to myself (and the Interweb) that I will have at least one homemade juice or smoothie each day.

Today I started my day with a delicious green juice I whipped up in my new Omega Juicer made from Kale, Spinach, Celery, Avocado, Kiwi, Clementine and Ginger.  That green juice got me through the morning routine, school drop off, my chiropractic appointment across town, playing with the lil' Turkey and getting her down for a nap. Pretty sweet!

Next I'm going to nourish my body &  hopefully my self esteem with a little exercise.  I have completely fallen off the wagon when it comes to exercise.  And I am fully aware that I need to make a change, both for my physical health and mental well being . So I'm going to start off with some home workouts.  Today I'm starting at little Squat & Push Up Boot Camp.  Sounds fun doesn't it?  I love that there's a calendar I can print off and post on my fridge as constant reminder.

Lastly, I'm going to nourish my homestead.  My husband and I are slowly working through bills and statements and coming up with an actual budget.  Ughhh....possibly the most un-exciting, stressful and argument inducing activity we have done.  But we need the reality check and I know we'll be better for it.  So I thought I might add a little something more uplifting to our bookkeeping marathon and start a savings jar.  So simple and I'm kind of really excited about it.  You start with $1 the first week and then add a dollar each week.  So week 2 is $2, week 3 is $3 until you reach week 52 and you deposit $52 into your jar.  And at the end of the year....almost $1400 SAVED!!!  Yippee!!

  2. Wow good luck with all of that. I like the idea of having one word for a resolution that can fit all different aspects of your life :-)
