Pretty Up Your Planner DIY

New Year and a new planner!  A bland, boring, exactly the same as my husband's planner.  So rather than paying big bucks for a prettier planner I decided to perk it up myself!  Check out this simple DIY to perk up your planner.

Pretty Up Your Planner DIY

Supplies:
1 Boring Planner
Assortment of Deco Art's Chalky Finish Paints
Q-Tips
Light Satin Varnish by Deco Art
1 Paint Brush

Instructions:
Make sure your planner is clean and dry.  A quick wipe with a damp cloth should to the trick!

Open your Chalky Paints and get creative.  Going one colour at a time, dip your Q-Tip into the paint and make small strokes on your planner.  You don't have to have a pattern or design.  Just go with the flow and give your planner some colour!

Once you are satisfied with your design, let it dry completely.

The final step is a light coat of Light Satin Varnish.  The Chalky Finish paint adhered perfectly to the front of my planner but I wanted a little added protection since it routinely ends up buried in the bottom of my purse.  Dry brush on a thin coat and let dry.  The varnish will dry clear and help protect your gorgeous planner.

Disclaimer: I received the paint supplies from Deco Art for the purposes of this project.  As always, the opinions expressed are my own
